Kerava
The apartment was bought as needing full refurbishment.
It had the original 40 year old kitchen and bathroom, plastic flooring and very old wallpaper. This should be a quick and easy job.
It has taken a little longer than expected but at least looks nice and hopefully finished by January 2007 ready for the next project!

Last Update: 14 Dec 2006
The former bathroom is now a shower room. The room was sealed (waterproofed). I tiled it all with simple wavy white wall tiles and dark grey floor tiles all grouted in grey. Looks clean. Just needs silicon, WC, sink, taps and original towel warmer. We put the floor down (Dec 06) which took a day. It has made the flat look a million times better. All the door frame lists and skirting boards can be put on now.
The kitchen is quite small. The old carcasses were removed. New electrics were added and a new tiled floor. The new kitchen cabinets are simple white doors and birch effect counter tops. All splashbacks have been tiled. Still a little work to do.
The original kitchen was about 30 years old and needed updating. The cabinets were very heavy old chipboard and removing was a job and a half.
During the Summer the exterior of the apartments had new drains added. The gardens were then landscaped which now look very nice indeed.
The kitchen tiles have been completed. Just need grouting. They should compliment the colour of the units.
The new shower walls have been completed. The original mains towel warmer will have to be connected and fixed.
(No broken tiles I hope!)
The original bathroom had a VERY heavy steel bath which had to be cut into pieces. The lovely yellow tiles and black glass floor tiles were all removed before the room was fully waterproofed.

The balcony was renovated as part of the exterior block renovation about 1-2 years ago and is in excellent condition.
